Does education really matter?

When i was pursuing my BE degree, I had never thought of this. I didn't even think that I will be forced by the coarse of life to live today's standard. Till today, I don't know even know if I deserve what all I am getting.

I have friends from my school, high school, college and the companies I have worked for. Every section has its own standard of living and approach to the life. Everyday, I come across many guys of my age group. A newspaper guy, guy at office cafeteria, a puncher shop guy, a grocery shop guy and etc., Everyone is well built, smarter than me, well talented, well speaking and literates as well. But everyone works for less than my family's monthly mobile and petrol cost. How would they manage to fulfill their basic necessities when a kilo of onions cost 70 Rs? Really unreal. Why does this socio-economic gap exist? Is it the God's grace I am not in that position? No. Is it a birth star? No. Then what made the difference? Is it Education? Yes.

Being literate is different from being educated. Why they are not educated? What made them to shrink their thoughts? Because, they didn't have idea what education can give them. No child can have this idea at their early days. By the time that child becomes adult that would be too late to realize. Then? Is it all over? No.

The reason behind me to be in the middle of the socioeconomic gap was my 'Sir'. He never told me of how should i go and what should i do at every step. The only thing that he made was building my "basics" strong. That is the reason I survive and able to cope up with the present world. The strong base has made the difference to many in my locality. All of them treat that strong base either as their luck or the God's grace.

There have many generations gone widening this gap. Before the gap becomes 100 and 0, and before only the upper class persists, there is an act to be accomplished. Let us reduce the gap by building the strong nation at its grass root level. Let me take how much I deserve. Absolutely neither 100 nor 0. Let everyone get their well deserved 50. Let us make the country socially and economically balanced. Let us build the strong base of those children who can really witness the zero-gap. Does it sound unreal? Yes. But there is no harm in giving our best of energy and lifetime to it.
